Berlin, September 23, 2025 – Today we're launching the next level of smart charging: NeoGrid® AI now connects not only directly with your car – but also with compatible wallboxes. This means drivers of almost all EV brands can now participate in our virtual power plant (VPP), strengthen grid stability and earn money.

Since launching NeoGrid® AI in January 2025, we have already performed over 1.1 million charging optimizations. This demonstrates: Private EVs can noticeably relieve the power grid – and owners benefit from it. Participants can earn up to 300 € per year per vehicle – equivalent to over 7,500 km of free driving*.

What's new?

Until now: NeoGrid AI® participation was possible only for drivers of Tesla and eight other brands (including Mercedes, BMW).

From today: Participation in NeoGrid® AI is possible for the majority of EVs and brand-independent when using a wallbox.

How NeoGrid® AI works – briefly explained

NeoGrid® AI is our virtual power plant for EVs. We connect thousands of vehicle batteries and intelligently control charging processes – based on real-time data of electricity supply and demand in the power grid. The bundled flexibility of the batteries stabilizes the power grid and meanwhile we generate active trading profits that we distribute to you.

Why this is not V2G – and why that's good

Unlike bidirectional charging (V2G), you need neither a special car nor a special wallbox that supports bidirectional charging. NeoGrid® AI works with a "virtual discharge" via electricity trading: The sold electricity never reaches you in the first place, which means no grid fees are incurred – and your earnings can be higher.
